Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost hun?
If you are looking for a fitness solution based purely on price we may be the wrong fit for you. We believe in delivering exceptional value and paying our staff fairly, therefore we charge accordingly. Our 6 Week Intro Course ranges from €240 - €300 at time of writing but please contact us for specifics. (PS: when contacting us give us a little more than "price pls", we are unlikely to respond to this type of message.)
Would ye accept an old crock like me?
YES! We believe that transforming your health, strength and confidence can be done at any age. Our small group sessions mean that a coach is there with you every step of the way to modify exercises where necessary and spur you on when you're ready. The best thing to do is press the Call Me button and we can discuss your particular situation.
Are ye open to men and women?
Yes! Generally our members are over 40 and often times if one partner joins the other comes along after a few months when they see how energetic and well the other half has become.
Will you be weighing me in the gym?
Nooooooo and here's why: We don't want to create a situation whereby your attendance and mood is affected by what you see on the scales. If you are looking for some body fat changes, we prefer using methods such as circumference measurements. Taking your own photos at home can be helpful too. We do not take photos ourselves or ever post semi-naked photos of you on our platforms. When working on Fat Loss we also find it helpful to understand your WHY; is it for health, for confidence or for performance? We need to use different coaching methods depending on your answer. We will of course explain this properly in person. Knowing this can help us to understand what the best approach is to support your journey.
How long are training sessions?
Our "Lift" Sessions are Small Group Training with a maximum of 7 people and a coach. These are 50 minutes long.
We then have "Sweat" which are 30 minutes long and include classes such as spin [aka Cycelle], boxing and circuits.
I work shifts, do I need to attend the same times & days every week?
No hun, not at all. You can manage your session credits in our Barbelle Health app and book in whenever suits your schedule. We do have a capacity on how many members we can take so definitely chat to us about the times that could work for you so that we can check availability.
Are there lots of bodybuilders and young ones looking at themselves in mirrors?
We don't have mirrors and we don't offer body building workouts. Bodybuilding requires so much dedication and precision and we have nothing but respect for people who take part in this sport. We do have a few members (in their 30s and late 50s) who are interested in powerlifting so we help them out with heavier lifting and competition preparation. It's very cool.
What time are training sessions?

Where is Barbelle?
We are based in St Martin's GAA Centre in Piercestown. When you drive in, our entrance is around to the left of the building before you get to the tennis courts. We have plenty of free parking and lovely safe grounds to walk around before / after your sessions if you have the time. You'll see our purple signage.
Piercestown is : 4minutes from Johnstown Castle, 10minutes from Wexford town, 15minutes from Kilmore and Rosslare and 38 minutes from Kilmuckridge (yet we have members who make this journey every week!)
